Loads of Birdies

Postby Gizzit » Sun Jan 04, 2004 5:21 pm

Went up to have a mooch around me local bike dealer t'day. They have got 4 new silver Blackbirds, 3 new red ones and 2 second hand red ones in stock (sold out of black and blue). Just 6 months ago, you could't get one for love nor money.

I was suprised to see that they had sold loads of bikes too (including one of the Blackbirds) - I always thought this time of year was slow Image

So, if you are in the market.......

Saw a brand spanker silver XX in one of the local dealers last week. Pretty sure it was up for the standard £8,349 but there is always room for deals as Gizzit says - particularly if you've got a decent bike to bring to the deal.

£8349 is the OTR price at all dealers for an official UK machine (set by Honda UK). They ALL have margins for negociation though. I managed to get a stonking deal last year, they are there if you are cheeky enough :D

Looks like the parallel importers may be on a comeback, the new 1000 Honda, Kawasaki and Yamahas are all pitched at just over the £9,000 mark so god knows what the new 'bird will be when and if it arrives.
95% of all Harley Davidsons ever made are still on the road... the other 5% made it home.

who needs a new bird when you've already got a timeless classic in the making.
Let the poor buggers who don't already have a blackie pay these expensive ones... I paid £5800 for mine with less than 12 months and 5000k on the clock.

Funny how all they had left in the store was a shit load of red and a bucket load of silver ones then Image Image

If I was petty and small minded, I would hark on at this point about the fact that BLACKbirds are the best, the fastest and the sexyest, proper bikes are BLACK and BLACKbirds kick all other colours arses.

But as I am not, I won't mention it cos I dont have to. You all know its true anyway Image

You realise of course that red is so good it's been discontinued for 04, there's only Matt Black, Blue and Silver now. The black was due for a revamp as it's been in since the bird came out, they tried a couple of shades of red/pink but obviously finally realised the error of their ways

According to the Honda website you can buy Black Metallic, Black, Candy Blue, and Silver Metallic for 04 :?

And for those of you who have the Red/Pink variety, please note the similarity with the colour scheme of a used tampon :sick)

The reason they stopped making the RED ones is because all the cool guys bought them and now the rest of you morons can buy the leftovers... It's a sort of a first class ticket=Red, second class gets the other colours and lack of colours... :D

And the RRP for a new one is £7999 - but only if you want a decent Black, Blue, or Silver - sorry, but the Red ones became worthless this year  And whilst BA and his Red/Pink mates think they are cool, it doesn't compare to the rest of us being HOT :D
