lol Now ain't it funny how these kind of posts always end up one against another :D

My xx is shinier than your xx cos it's got carbs
Yeah, but my xx is prettier than yours cos it's got Cats and I like Cats
But my carbed xx uses more petrol than yours
Only because you weigh 30 stone and I only weigh 10 stone
Well my Uncle says that a friend of his said that the carbed xx must be better because they stopped making it
Well my Auntie has got an Uncle who's knows a friend of his next door neighbour who bought an FI xx and he said it was better than the carbed xx because he could cook sausages better than anyone on the estate on his barbecue when it was raining

Doh :P :D

I think that Fuel Injection generally is a positive step in the progress of motor vehicles and have had the experiece of FI since 1982, on cars. (Not diesels I add, before someone jumps in). The xx is the first bike I have ridden with it. I have a lot of confidence in its general reliability. This is not idle prejudice as I still have carb'd bikes going back to 1919. :banghead)

Yes, I ordered the 1919 Triumph when I was de-mobbed in 1918. It's a Model H,(you need "Preparation H" after a few miles on it), introduced during 1915 for the Dispatch Riders, only 30,000 were made.
Actually I bought it in 1965, at an age of 23 because it was even older than my 1926 Ariel.
Both have what they call "Priming Cocks" (Whait for jokes, etc) on the cylinder heads to, wait for it, - - - - INJECT extra fuel for cold starts.
I mostly used them for squirting oil into the cylinders after seizures. Saved removing hot plugs with only my cheap wooly gloves.
I have to recon the Ariel Carb soon (when my lathe arrives). The slide and bore are brass on brass with no air filter. The last 78 years have taken their toll and I think the warranty has just expired. :banghead) :bigcry:

You can do more to the carbed engine, not restricted by the limitted use of FI,so in theory it could go faster than the xx injection models, ain't life a bitch :bigcry:

Ain't yours a carbed model numb nuts :? Hmm, I don't think I want to do to my FI model what you just did to your carbed model - I prefer my xx in ONE piece :oops)
