Fi XX Fuel tank capacity! 22.88 litres

Postby WolfManXXCBR » Mon Jan 19, 2004 11:03 pm

Well it's happend to me for the second time, the xx starts to miss and jump and I can't believe it! My heart sinks as I realise I'm running out of petrol again!! This time lady luck is smiling as a petrol station appears around the corner. I managed to coax her into the petrol station and the engine stops beside the pump. 22.88 litres is the actual fuel tank capacity of my 2003 Fi xx Feel like complaining to Mr Honda as it should be 24 litres.

The FI was only advertised as 24 litres when it first came out in 1999 saying it was 2 litres up on the carb version..... But every Honda brochure from 2000 onwards has listed it at 23 litres.
95% of all Harley Davidsons ever made are still on the road... the other 5% made it home.

Yes I remember asking this question before ! :P
I better be careful. Lasted 35 miles with the fuel light on last year & my bottle went :oops)
Got 21 1/2 litres of fuel in that time :thumbsup)
Don't fancy pushing an empty xx ! :bigcry:

:oops) Partly correct, I have the 2000 brochure and it does say 24litres - however after checking the owners manual it does state 23litres.

Must have changed it halfway through the year then, the 2000 brochure I have says 23 litres, someone at Honda can't measure volumes very well it appears, must have had a few complaints and changed the spec so no one sued them when they got a hernia pushing it when they ran out :oops)
