Ducati..err No Thanks

Postby bezzer » Tue Feb 24, 2004 1:44 pm

Just been reading an article in Used Bike Guide about some bloke and his Monster 600. Some people moan about the cost of Honda servicing but I'm glad I don't own a Duke, remember it's a naked bike so no time consuming bodywork to remove -
600 mile run-in service £129
6,000/12 month service £465
12,000/2yr service £564
18,000/3yr service £500

Then there's the £200 for chain and sprockets plus the tyres, over £2,000 just to keep it on the road :( , plus the usual Ducati posing bits 8) all for the most basic bike they do.
Makes you gratefull to own a Honda, least you can do a lot of the work yourself and still be OK, got to have a Ducati done at a dealers as no one in there right mind would ever buy one that didn't have a full factory service history however good the owner was supposed to be.
95% of all Harley Davidsons ever made are still on the road... the other 5% made it home.
