Aaahhh but Birdaddict don't you see - I get the best of both worlds - when I want to get somewhere quick and not worry about gear changes, I borrow bruvs bike. When I want to go round corners quickly, I use mine! {quickly hides behind shed to avoid volley of abuse} :wink:

P.S. to Sorry in the delay in replying - we only get 10 minutes at a time on the interwebby on d wing! :mrgreen:

not knocking your wheels, I had one and was happy with it. as for going around corners... well the guys down here (Trident, GB) have been teaching me how it's done and I'm now going round the twisties faster than I'm going I go on some straights... And I'm still the weakest link, plenty to learn till I can keep up with them...You're invited next time round...bring your bruv aswell.

- riding position is almost identical to mine too!

If money was no object - I would have a bird as well.

btw - I've got a '99 800i, with 36k on the clock.

Well as of today I sent the 'lone' VFR back to the hire company, sorry old boy but it bored the pants off me :cry: , even more than the Trophy lone bike I had before it. :roll:
So, for the time being I am bikeless. Still hope to get something for the pie&peas run as I dont want swampy to get to the pie table before me

Sorry to hear the VFR didn't suit you - but each to their own mate!

Regrettably, age is against me (40+a few years), and what with reaction times, arhritis yada yada yada... yes I suppose me and my bike can be regarded as a mainstay of the Pipes and Slippers brigade - but I have great fun on mine at the moment (consisting of 60 miles of twisty roads on a daily basis) and I would rather have that than nothing. :mrgreen:
