Literal comedy eh? can't beat it.I am off on holiday for a while, but I will post some feedback on the zzr v Blackbird when I get back, for anyone thats interested. Strange thing is........................
I miss the Blackbird already!
There are a lot of things I'd miss about the 'bird (which is why I aint getting rid) but one stands out so much, it's invisible, because I stopped thinking about it years ago---
I KNEW that unless I crashed, I'd be riding it home. My bikes have been cared for at home, at a cost of next to nowt and it never even crossed my mind that it would break down. Didn't worry about days out, long trips abroad blah blah blah----- just get on, start up, go out, get home and park up- time, after time, after time, after time.
I always carried a spare reg/rec when abroad, but never used it. Of all the runs out I've been on with 'birds, I was present at one breakdown (Wobbs on the Easter Run '06?) and he set off with the fault and got home with it. I've never seen uncrashed 'bird heading home on a tow truck either. The worst I can say is that I've very occasionally added a cable tie here and there, adjusted a drive chain at the roadside once and buggered about with some bolt on bits for other owners, but it's never been Honda's engineering that failed.
So of all the things I'd miss, that beautiful, serene inner sense of well being that comes from reliabilty stands out the most. And I never once envied riders of other bikes with errrrrrrrm....more 'character' (as the riders of less reliable machines like to call it)
Tim, Tim it's happening again
This could be a triple bluff with me sounding like AJ and things
