Well it was big and heavy ....oops thoughts carried away with me .......the K1600GTL was big and heavy. :) lol

Struggled round corners and all the cobbly villages in Belgium but was brilliant on the autobahn. That's it in summary ...We will put more plus photos on 'Travelogue'

Ro Ro's putting the write up in Travelogues as we speak :thumbsup) sorry its late :(

The K1600GTL is not the bike I'd have chosen given a choice :-? But beggars can't be choosers!
First things first, its big... & it's heavy :roll), although the engine is tilted forward by a large amount, the weight soon becomes apparent when just moved from the vertical. It seemed on the Europe trip that every sharp change of direction was on damp cobbled, inclined junction :P Not nice when 2 up & the panniers loaded!
On the positive, the motor is so smooth  & very powerful. From nearly any revs in any gear it pulls strongly 8)
Ro Ro loved the armchair on the back :thumbsup)
For me the bars are pulled too far back & you feel removed from the front end. But for a relaxed blast on the autobahn its fine. From getting from A to B fast, in comfort, on good A roads & motorways its very good indeed. Fuel consumption was pretty good to, average of over 48 mpg.
I got the RT back on August 22nd :thumbsup)
Was nice to get back on it, funnily the seat is higher than the 1600 but the RT is so much smaller in size!
Had to recalibrate the brain from a super smooth 6 cylinder to a high engine breaking twin! But the RT is the right bike for me :thumbsup)
Got to get sorted pretty quick as I'm marshaling on a run the 7th September, 3rd year of the Big Ride Out.
