Is IXXRA old hat....probably. Is it past its use by date....nope. Just cos the old crew don't participate in the forum is no reason to chuck in the towel...as long as the xx is revered for its attributes....and it will for years to come...there'll still be a need for this place...

...besides, where can an Ozzy borrow a bike, shack up with a person in Sheffield who we won't name and drink piss with a mob of reprobates if this joint was closed down...?

...don't forget to make mine a Glenfiddich Mr. Tim...

I work Shifts in the NHS and can only attend things that fit in with work, short notice is difficult. the more notice the more likely I can attend rideouts etc.
Don't give up on IXXRA. It performs a useful function

Conversely, long notice is, a lot of the time, difficult for moi. We all have our different crosses to bear.

Useful function?!
More than a useful function for me at least Grant as I have met so many good people on here. Even the one(s) that call me "twat/liar/ignorant/coont" and so many other wonderful adjectives. Great peeps all, to a man (and woman). :thumbsup)

Just to say, I'm still lurking, and still own an xx (for the moment at least...) but do find forums in general appear to be dying. Would love to meet up with you all for a ride out, but that's not possible at the moment. Perhaps next year...

Nah, don't think they are dying...it's whatever is of interest that thrives...Blackbirds are old hat in the general bike world ( overheard an old bull pointing out to a young bull, earlier in the year when parked up in Hawes....."those are Blackbirds, fastest bikes out at one time" to which the young bull replied "oh aye?...fekkin ugly old things aren't they....and sooooooooooooooooo old fashioned looking" Go look at the GS BMW Forum...fekkin thriving...300+ Subscribed Members on line at one time regularly and then there's the non subscribers that are logged on too.

Lurkers just piss me off....fekkin "lurking" indeed...it is what it says on the tin aint it with lurkers. Lurk and not participate and wonder why it's quiet . What an ugly word for ugly people. Fekkin lurkers. OK for newbies to lurk and watch and pick up the general tone of the place..I was guilty of that when I joined...until one of the Old School P.M'd me to say he'd seen me "lurking" ( didn't know that's what it was then in my Forum naivety)....and to take a deep breath and pop in and say hello. Best thing I did :thumbsup) Cheers Chuff .

Hi Phil. Would love to meet up again matey...only chatting about a trip to the 'Ring early next year. With the Ben Lovejoy 'Ring Forum folding, we don't get any news and tales of the Ring these days. What's "appening" out there Bodders?...in the 'Ring world in general. Hope you're both well and I haven't forgot..I'll fetch you a large bag of Maynards on my next visit..and some Tetley's Tea Bags too. :thumbsup). Lurrrrve to Helga/Heidi/Brigitta/Britta.... :thumbsup)
