leaking head gasket

Postby xxstatic » Mon Jan 05, 2015 8:48 pm

hello all Kawasaki klr600 thumper tidy bike issue with the head gasket leaking after about 40 secs from startup theres a decompression lever on the cam by all accounte this releases the compression for easy startup the problem was the bike wouldn't start but whirred nicely on the button on investigation realised the spring on the decompression lever was knackered so just replaced it with a different spring question is if the spring that I put on was slightly stronger would this allow the lever to move to let in some compression but leave the valve or whatever slightly open due to it being the wrong spring hence leaking head gasket the bike is loud at the top end but have been assured that the kwaka is like that even the 250
