The Budgies Christmas ReRun 24 - 25th May 2015

Postby Oldbull » Mon Feb 02, 2015 7:21 pm

May I be so bold as to suggest another try at the budgie run.. Rained off last year but its such a good route and a nice place
to stay, it would be rude not to...

I know the man himself wont be able to make it this time but we can have a few drinks in his honor

would be good if we could get a similar turn out... Everyone knows the craic now so could easily sort there own accommodation etc etc

Well What you reckon ???  :ride)

You have my blessing :thumbsup)

...and yes there will sadly be no 2015 journey to UK. We've bought a block and currently building our new home...sold this one last December after 21 years and moving in March.

No doubt we'll plan towards a 2016 rerun...in the dry maybe... :roll)

To add to that Kazzie and I got engaged last December and have planned an October wedding, so you're all invite for the shindig!

Whilst we're in the early stages of this, a few peeps off forum, have expressed concerns about why the fook we're planning a ride/trip on a Bank Holiday weekend when we have a choice and rightly so now the bleeding obvious has been pointed out to me.

The dates of last years Budgie run was dictated by the time Budgie was available to meet up with us, so no choice. Booking accommodation in late December, early January ( I think) was, for want of a better word, a fekkin nightmare. Yes, yes, I know it wasn't helped by a pair of complete and utter brainless fekkwits turning up at the White Horse Inn proclaiming to staff that their room had been booked by Mister T. Fekking Murphy and why wasn't it written down. ( I STILL cannot believe that they did that...it defies belief that two grown men can do such a thing duh lol ). But I digress, yea, booking due to it being Bank Holiday WAS difficult and ended up with peeps scattered, not too far away I know, around the village and by some ducking and diving we just managed to get it together.

So, weekends before or after Bank Holiday would be far better, for accommodation booking AND for better riding with less traffic about.

Last year we did Friday and Saturday night stays at the Pub. Just nicely weighted for me anyrode. Nice ride down Friday, chill, eat and drink and talk proper bollox, followed by a decent ride Sat and a good Saturday night taking the piss out of the way Simmo talks. Sunday a nice lazy start after a good brekky and make what you want of it with riding back, unless ya a fekkin wimp and "gotta be back for x o'clock, tea's at 5.30/I've promised to take her out at 6/ blah blah" or ya in deep shite.

Can't wait me. :ride)
