time for a new lid, methinks. Has anyone got or has anyone tried a shoei neotec flip-up jobby? It's a lot of dosh to spend on the wrong helmet, can't seem to get a test drive.

Yep, i've got one and it's by far the most comfortable lid i've ever had. The build quality is top notch and the venting is first class - the wind blowing through once the top vent is opened is fantastic. it's very quiet too for a flip and not too heavy. My other half has bought one too and reports the same. Go for it

Was considering a new one myself but decided to leave until next year as I'd only just forked out £60+ for a new visor and pinlock for the Multitec...

However, I did have a look around and whilst some heads don't suit certain helmet brands so it's just subjective like..the best two I have tried were the Schuberth C3 and C3 Pro...very, very comfortable, snug and quiet. Then the other week, whilst out on a very secretive need to know basis Saturday bimble in the Peaks with Ramo and Cyclops and nobody else, we happened to call in to Staffordshire Triumph dealers where we tried on the Shoei Neotec. I can only say from wearing it in the shop that it was the best fitting helmet I have ever put on my bonce and I want one....but not at FOUR HUNDRED AND SIXTY FOOKIN NINE POUNDS.

Try the Shoei and the Schuberth. Different world. Ya get what ya pay for.


Akuji 's Shoei was a bespoke, one off, direct from the manufacturers. Field of vision is second to none. Must've cost a fortune.

If it helps at all, I got my Neotec from this place last October. Cost (£379)included shipping, tax etc. They said 7 days for delivery (from Spain) but it arrived in 5 and in good order.

Anyhoo, £90 saved and it is a world class, all day comfy lid (especially now they do black visors for them which was a 'must' for me. One thing though, if you don't currently have a Shoei, I'd suggest finding a local dealer, try the Neotec on and note the size you need from experience. I remember changing from a Arai Quantum F to a Shoei Raid years ago and the sizing was very different.

When I bought my last helmet about 300 years ago, I bought it from Mark Roberts near Lincoln AFTER he let me take it for a test ride His GF wasn't too happy about it, but who gives a fcuk - he sold two helmets instead of one cuz Rosie liked hers too

Hate my Neotec worst money I have spent!

Wish I had another Multitec personnaly, Neoptec tooooo noisy even with ear plugs.

It could just be my screen as only have standard fitted. Just fitted bar risers so maybe it will change too?

But |I must say lovely and comfy, venting OK great build quality.

Well after much deliberation and research I've made a decision. Choice came down to the neotec or schuberth c3 pro, managed to find a shop which had both on display. Close decision, ended up going for the schuberth, the interior was a lot nicer, and it fitted a bit better.

aldi were selling helmets the other week.... open face £15.00... full face £25.00.....

bargain..... both sorts had the EU certification markings too....

This is probably a piss take question, but what the hell... If you want to eat/drink on a pissy day without taking your lid off and getting the inside wet... or buying petrol at certain places... or sorting passports in France/Spain/Europort... or asking for directions/chatting with folks at the roadside... or talking with the rider next to you at traffic lights (or anywhere else)... ventilation for a few minutes in towns/villages on hot summer days...

Truth is, why would anybody waste money on a full face helmet, when for an extra couple of quid, they can have one that's both

Probably the same reason they buy helmets and then leave them sat on a shelf cos they don't ride anywhere
