Arai Lids S***t

Postby 1137cc » Thu Sep 17, 2015 2:28 pm

On my to drop off the xx today to have it's head bearings done i hear this crack noise from the right hand side of lid, got to the shop to find that that side side piece that covers where the visor mechanism is is loose and about to fall off, it's held on by 2 tiny plastic lugs one of which is broken and the side panel wont stay on, so helmet now useless and it will take until at least January to get spares. I have emailed Arai to see what they say.

So more than likely in the market for a new one, any recommendations? Caberg?

I can recommend schuberth, good build quality. Just bought the c3pro flip up, and I like it! That is all.

I have a caberg flip up and don't use it anymore :banghead)
Always steamed up the inside of the visor when raining and if you broke the seal at the bottom to let some air in to clear the misting then rain would pish down the inside from the top :banghead)

I bought an Arai Quantum F years ago and, to be honest didn't really like the fit but wore it anyway as it was so expensive. I had the same problem with those lugs and plastic covers - it's a known issue and Arai would replace the foc at any of their service stands at the shows (bmf etc). Would I buy another - no. I switched to HGC and have had several, they were cheap but fitted my head like a glove. :ride)
