Straight Bars ?

Postby Sircular » Thu Oct 15, 2015 1:26 am

Hi peeps, anyone out there in xx land, done the "Straight bar conversion" If so, could you let me know how difficult / easy it was to do, what you think of them, if you still have them fitted ? ( A couple of pic`s would be great too ! ) Coz I`m toying with the idea to get them for my `Bird. Thanks, regards, Sircular.

Hi Sirc. Unfortunately I cant direct you to the Bad Taste Section. However, I do know that BlackMagic "did it" before realising how much he'd fooked up the gorgeous lines of his beautiful Black Blackbird.

However, if you try the racist faggot site theres a good few that has done the conversion and swear by it. Ianrobbo was the guinea pig during the conversions adjustment from other bikes to the Blackbird so he'll be able to enlighten you in all things "straightbar".

Good luck................you fekkin Philistine :thumbsup)

O.k. You `orrible lot, I`m guessing the "Straight bar" (Yes, The kit from "Jaws") conversion isn`t a good idea. So, ok, I`ll forget it. cheers to y`all, Stay upright. Sircular.

Just one more thing :- Trippo, Pray tell why you no longer have your xx . Are you saying, that if you`d done the conversion, you wouldn`t have crashed :banghead) . OR, have you simply got a different bike ? Regards, Sircular. :thumbsup)

No, no, no. I dont think were actually saying it aint a good idea. For some individuals it has enabled them to keep riding the Bird. Fortunately I can ride my Bird without which enables me and a few others to take the piss remorslessly because yes in my opknion they look shite and also make the Bird look shite. But there again, Im a shallow bastid :rockon)

Best to find someone and try them. Ya in Yorkshire yea? Then contact IanRobbo who is very helpful and obliging....he's in Wakefield.

Good luck :thumbsup)

Thanks for that T. murphy. I`m in Corby, Northants. It`s that I do a lot of miles commuting each week, (Around 300) and was looking at making the ride more comfy. so straight bars, different saddle, and a cruise control, are some options I`m looking at. Regards, Sircular. :thumbsup)

Loved the bird to bits Sircular :thumbsup)
Had 2 over an 8 year span and done approx 80000 miles on them :notworthy)

It's just that I wanted a brand new bike for a change and as the coooonts at Honda haven't replace the awesome blackbird with an even more awesome blackbird :banghead) I had to look elsewhere

I think my bird had the Jaws bar conversion on when I bought it. Everything looks close and tight (only just fits and works without interference.)
They make the Bird super comfy. brings the riding position a little more upright, as a result you sit out in the wind a little more with the air from the double bubble hitting you right in the eyes. (though this doesn't create more turbulence at speed.) I like em I don't think they detract from the beauty of the bird at all. I did take off the dozy cross bar though. :thumbsup)

I will also try to get some piccies posted later today, though I am not great with tech stuff.

Hi DaveCh42, I`m in Corby, Northamptonshire, (Near the "Rockingham Speedway" motor racing circuit ?). 8 miles north of Kettering, Near the border with Leicestershire. :-? (Get out your road atlas & `ave a look !) If you don`t manage to post some pic`s, I`d be happy to meet up, half way, to see your xx . I understand your in Rotherham, so, somewhere near Newark-on-Trent would be about half way `tween us. The cattle market/Truck stop, at Newark, I think, would be ideal.(If you agree) It`s got a decent café for a brew & a butty. You can P.m. me, If you like, to sort out the details. (Newark is about an hour`s ride for me). Regards, Sircular. :thumbsup)
