As a well-known and long-standing fan of Valentino (cue OB!! ), I think he's suffered his greatest defeat.

He lost his composure.

He lost his way.

He lost the support of the media.

He lost the general public's perception and acceptance of who he is, or might be.

He lost respect for Marquez.

He lost the respect that Marquez once had for him.

He lost all sense of the consequences of his actions at Sepang.

He lost to Lorenzo.

He lost the race.

He lost the respect of the paddock.

He lost what might be his last chance to win his TENTH world championship.
.
.
.

Lorraine and I have travelled hundreds of thousands of miles to support him and we're hanging on in there...

...but it doesn't feel like a "win".
.
.
.

I only pray that he's not lost his self-belief, as well.

Right, Im trying very hard to keep calm

First and foremost, THERE IS NO EXCUSE WHATSOEVER to make deliberate contact with another rider let alone try to knock one off,
Its too dangerous, stupid and against EVERY rule in the book. It could easily have led to an injury or even worse,
Rossi should have immediately been black flagged let alone allowed to finish the race and stand on the podium after he had just committed THE
cardinal sin..

If it was ANY other rider they would have been black flagged straight away... If Lorenzo had knocked Rossi off he would be still swinging from the grandstand. BTW Marquez should have been black flagged also after he got back on ...

There can be no room for spinning out the usual Rossi excuses in this situation, it is totally out of order by both riders and should have been dealt with properly not the one rule for Rossi and another for everyone else that we are getting so used too.... 3 penalty points is a farce.

But THE one thing thats bothering me even more is the fact that NOT ONE PERSON, RIDER, TEAM MANAGER, MARSHAL, EXPERT RACE DIRECTION, 12million spectators or any of the idiots on social media watching the Australian GP the week before noticed any dirty riding in that race UNTIL Rossi decided to come out with THAT statement on Thurday at the press conference that gob smacked EVERYONE else concerned... including his own team ...

There was no wrong doing in that race, in fact quite the opposite it was good clean race with the Ducatis stuffing it up Rossi as well as everyone else...
It was shameful and degrading to his fellow riders to come out with a statement like that and especially the way that he did it as well... To me that was just as bad a dirty tactic as what he did in the race and should have been stamped on just as hard....

Rossi hasnt done himself any favours and lost a lot of respect from a lot of people this time... all the idiot had to do was follow Lorenzo home at Valencia and he would have been world champion again... I think he knows that Marquez IS going to beat his record and left his mark on him, excuse the pun....

Never been the G.O.A.T. in my eyes always been the C.O.A.T ... the biggest Cheat Of All Time so its just another normal day at the office for him, but this time its cost him the championship... :oops)

Theres still time for his rule spinners to get him out of this one again before Valencia tho... so dont despair just yet Eric :thumbsup)

Ahhhhh, but he fekkin dint though did he...and on the basis of that first statement being totally fekkin inaccurate, nay wrong, I cant be arsed to read the rest of ya heartfelt emotive "fan" stuff. Fekkin grown men being "fans" of other men? Methinks the laddie doth protest too much. Whatever next. Gerra fekkin grip the lot on ya.

When we avin a midweek Welsh run then? If we ride up Lake Brenig again and that coont Ramo overtakes me on the inside again then I will defo shove the coont off onto the fekkin mooors this time.

Agreed pal the damage is done now. Should have been nipped in the bud ages ago and it wouldnt have come to this if a certain FIM didnt let it happen
Never been about rider,s (plural) tho, just the one untill he acused another last Thursday. The last and only other contraoversial incident
to happen that didnt involve Rossi was Loris Caperossi taking another rider out to win the 250 championship, and that went to the high court. Now everyone is finally feeling like us minority non Rossi enthusiasts that the chapionship is a sham and has been since the FIM
started changing the rules to suit one persons wrong doings. A good football manager never lets one player become bigger than the club he represents, sadly thats not the case in GPs because the FIM have let one rider become bigger than the event itself and now they are paying the price , which is a shame for everyone.

I still love me bike racing tho and will be hoping they can sort it out....

Mite be room for one at the IOM next year pal ''' wanna come  :ride)

Rossi's appealed to the CAS.

http://www.crash.net/motogp/news/224734 ... nalty.html

Everyone knows I've been a rabid Rossi fan for years - but, for me, he's taking this shambles from bad to worse.

I still believe that Marquez was a 50-50 contributor to his own crash.

Without the slo-mo videos, tho (see wot I did there? ) I'd have continued to believe that Rossi had just lashed out and deliberately kicked Marquez off his bike - because that's how it looked to me.

The films show, not an out-and-out assault by Rossi (as I first thought), but a reaction to the physical contact initiated by Marquez - but that's no mitigation and I've never tried to defend what Rossi did.

The videos explain (perhaps) why he reacted - but a bloke of his experience is the last one I'd expect to lose his head when under pressure - he's a nine times world champion fuh-fookssake annee shudda fookin known fookin bedda duh (and, brea-the).

Race Director Mike Webb wrote:However we took into account when making the penalty on Rossi, that he certainly had some provocation. But, as I said to him, it doesn't matter what the provocation is. You can't react in a way that causes a rider to crash."

That should be the end of it.

Do the fookin time antekkit like a man.
