For anyone still interested :)

TDM normally comes with the 18 inch wheel as standard which bias the handling to be more off road..
When you fit the 17inch it brings it back to more normal road bias ie standard road bike.( and gives you a lot more tyre choice)

Its a straight swop with the same looking 3 spoker off the old R1, R6 etc only difference is a slightly different bearing housing which if you didnt know you wouldnt have noticed.

My only concern is I rather liked the lazy handling feel of the standard set up and wondered if it would make it a bit too radical.. Done about fifty mile on it now until Noah intervened and although the turn in is a lot quicker the stability and lazy feel is still there. Jury still out with me at the minute tho until I can dry road test it.
Suspension is way too soft as standard for a full on road (sports) bike feel but Im hoping there is enough adjustment to dial a bit of that out. I know Ramo likes his and he was the reason for me to give it a try but I am curious as to what Cliff and Jono think now they have done theirs. I bought the TDM for a purpose and really liked the way it is, so if it moves the goal posts too far Ill put it back and save the sports bike riding for the Bird :thumbsup)

Jono , Cliff, how you getting on with yours ???

Nothing much to see in a pic Dave but Ive took you one any way, the gap between tyre and mudgaurd is noticeably
bigger but other than that ... same as
