Well well. After much thought, deliberation, listening to and watching what other folk here and elsewhere haved "progressed" onto......and quite quickly back off again, I have excitedley decided that the next motorbike I am going to get is one of them there Honda SuperBlackbirds. And just to remind me....7 days in France and Germany a month ago on the Bird was nothing short of fabulous motorcycling on a bike that just lapped up everything thrown at it. Comfort, speed, acceleration, handling as far as my limited skills require....and STILL the looks that turns heads, including mine. From the East European lorry driver at a services north of London who pestered Ramo with..." oh my goodiness....zis your bike....I vill buy it now, I love it, it is beautiful, never have I seen such a bike, how much, how much, you must sell yes, I vont it" only to be told in piss poorly veiled hidden regret of oh my God what have I done " nah mate, that 18 year old pile of scrap is his over there...thats mine, that VFR over there", finishing off with an unconvincing, half-hearted "there, over there look, see it, great innit? " as the Tyrolean trucker drooled over my Bird, totally ignoring the Majestic one....again the biker landlady of our first B&B in Northern France who, on our arrival bee lined straight to the Bird, ignoring the two nondescript Hondas with a "oooh, a Blackbird and a Titanium one too......Ive always loved these.......to various Germans that would just walk up and drool over the Bird.......

Anyrode...it might be a Black one....might be a Silverrun for a change ...dunno yet. But it'll be one thats well sorted.....you know, like Ramos sorta thing.....although I wouldnt at all be surprised if owd Ramo ended up gerrin shut of the VFR, realising the error of his ways and buying back what has to be one of the most sorted ( without going over the top) Blackbirds about.

For some gullible, short sighted shallow fekks out there, a line from Joni Mitchell comes to mind.." oh, it always seems to go, that you dont know what youve got til its gone"

Lotsaa nice stuff out there....but thats about it for me....just nice.

Sexy

Picked my sexy black beast up this afternoon, and headed home via various roads to evaluate my new steed and loved every minute of it! If I was to liken it to any bike, I would say it's like a Tedium 900 on Steroids crossed with a GS like presence when yer on it, it's "Big"!!!!! it has useful power, great engine braking, you forget it's shaft drive and no backlash, a 150 section rear tyre makes it tip in very easily, bit different from hustling the VFR with a 190 rear tyre on :shock) good seat, but too early to truly evaluate that needing a 250 mile day to find out proper? as for the weight at 261kg she's a lardy lass, and when yer trying to back pedal with yer feet it doesn't take much of an obstruction behind the front wheel to stop it dead, especially when yer a shortarse like me! on the whole it's the type of bike I've been hankering for, I like the adventure bike style, and after riding Tims old GS I knew this was the type of bike for me :wink) It's got two power modes AJ mode for old fogies, and "Sports" mode for the rest of us! I could see the AJ mode being useful on wet day's! So the honeymoon looks like it's going to be a long one with my new mistress and I might need some Viagra :D

Fekkin clever the Japs. Ride, stop, swivel 180 degrees, lift and unfold " top box/chest", top box lid, lid unfolds 4 times its size, lift out the 3 inflatable stools and voila, family picnic or game of bridge. Whatever fookin next . I am in awe :notworthy)
