My bird has a saggy front as does the XX. I see Jaws springs are getting good reports, but what about others?

Differing opinions re your question (isnt there always?). Most peeps I know who have used the Jaws springs/spacers say it's marvellous, just a few I know have said they're not.

Some have splashed out and put Ohlins in ....the difference apparently is fantastic. ( I tried aj's Bird withnew Ohlins F&R and 'twas like riding on a Maglev)

Me, Ive put Hyperpro progressive springs in and even though one or two suspension gurus say its a waste of time I notice a marked improvement.

However...back to basics. How old/mileage has your Bird done and when did your forks get a good overhaul? A thorough strip, clean and rebuild with new oil will make an immediate improvement.

Anyway, nice to 'see' you after so long Simon.

I went the JAWS route re: front and a rebuilt rear shock.
If I spent a fortune on top of the range kit, I doubt I would notice much difference.

1 Bike has only got 25K miles on it.
The last fork overhaul was when Mr Honda maybe it
I was originally only going to change the oil, but as it's saggy in the front I decided to do the whole thing.

Barrie, the rear shock still feels great, probable due to my light weight, solo riding and few miles.
I was thinking of getting the Jaws springs but the Ohlins also should be a safe bet!

And i'm fitting them morrow with 10w oil and a 150mm air gap.
Seemed the best option.

Well the jobs done with only 1 minor hassle. That m6 allen bolt on the mudguard was seized solid and me forcing it put a small crack in the mudguard
Anyway I set the air gap to 150mm and used 10W oil. The ride is so much nicer on the front now, and almost a bit over damped on rebound. I think that will soften as the temperature as about 5ºC when I took it out yesterday.
A miate of mine rode it too and he#s an ST1400 rider so the XX feels like a light weight sports bike to him, He thought it rode like a new bike, so I am very happy with the results indeed!

I am now looking out for some VFR bars to make the ride a bit more comfortable.
