Interesting to learn that Sete Gibernau is working with Dani Pedrosa, in pursuit of the MotoGP championship.

Image

I’d forgotten that Dani had been with Telefonica Movistar Honda at the start of his World Championship career!

Time flies, eh?! :roll)

Also has a horrendous injury list – since 2003 the lad’s had just three years -
2004, 2012 and 2014 during which he didn’t break, fracture or sprain anything. :shock)

..He must really want it, eh?

Interesting read from Stephan Bradl on how the specifications between MotoGP and WSB
moved a bit closer together with the introduction of the standard ECU in the GP class.

http://www.crash.net/wsbk/news/240202/1 ... bradl.html

There's still a big difference in chassis stiffness and tyre technology, though - which means
the GP bikes pose different problems when it comes to getting the best out of them - ask
Sam Lowes if you don't believe me! :roll)

Mav again…! :ride)

Image

Looking as good as ever – let’s see where he is after the first three races! :twisted)

Image

Lorenzo looks a bit more comfy… :roll)

Is there a teensy bit of opposite lock there…?

I must admit to some disappointment with the coverage on MotoGP (cheapo) VideoPass for this test.

Dunno if it’s the time difference, but I expected “Live” coverage to mean “as it happens” –
but it doesn’t – that only applies to live timing as far as I can see. duh

Maybe we’ll get more from Qatar – I hope so!

Well, it’s all done and dusted now and it’s certainly not the top ten I was expecting. :banghead)

Image

I’ve seen a few reports and it’s amazing how quickly the pundits seem to have written off Valentino :bigcry:

– see the MotoGP report as a prime example.

http://www.motogp.com/en/news/2017/02/1 ... and/219730

The fairing wars also continue with Suzuki ruining the lines of the only bike to rival the beauty of Yamaha’s M1
– what a shame…! :sick)

Image

…and Aprilia with their take on the abomination!

Image

...Ah, well duh ... Here's to the next one...

Nowt to celebrate yet, pal.

According to the G.O.A.T, he’s still got setup problems to sort out.

What worries me is that while Mav gets the headlines, Marquez and Pedrosa seem to be on a
higher level of focus in their development programmes – and that shows in the consistency of
their efforts, the sheer hard work they’ve put in (in terms of completed laps) – and the results
achieved thus far.

Marquez is as ferociously competitive as ever he was – and the Honda hierarchy will continue to
add fuel to his fire. Not many will recall the headlines proclaiming Honda’s desire to “destroy Rossi”
– but both Honda and Marquez have long memories and, I suspect, both are determined to see that
threat become as close to realisation as possible.

If Valentino doesn’t do it this year…
