OK guys, time to let you know about the McBASH this year, I was gonna post this in the 2017 events page, but there aint one !

I'm sure our friendly mod can move this if necessary !

For those with an aversion to BIRD, note this is not a BIRD event, in fact most of this years attendees are not on BIRD and have joined from the Facebook posts on various Blackbird Forums, so no excuses !

This year it will be over the weekend of 1st-4th September and will be held at the Conon Bridge Hotel just north of Inverness, we will have exclusive us of the hotel as we are taking all the rooms so you can't get much better than that for a Group.

We are getting it for an inclusive rate of £48 per person per night and that includes an evening meal.
I know its a bit further North than I was trying to get, but this will open up roads to Ullapool and along part of the NC500 up along the coast.

There are 12 rooms but if we need more there are a couple of B&B's next door that they will be able to use and anyone staying there is on the same deal, so all meals in the Hotel.

So far we have 13 attending in 9 rooms so there are still places available.

I do keep trying to get some of you guys to come and there is plenty of time for organising yourselves, but its up to you !

Hopefully will see some of you this year !

OK guys, just an update.

After consideration this years McBASH will be the last one, I know possibly 3 of you have only ever come since we started in 2009 but as this years will be the last I wanted to give you the last chance to sample a Scottish BASH.

This year there are quite a few newbies from Facebook, etc, so no excuse to use BIRD members as a reason for not coming !!

Bloody good job I dint take the Bird. Got lost and went through a few farmyards full of slurry and single tracks. Bird tucked up in garage thank fook. Yes a bite.

To be honest if I didn't get them on a couple of years ago the old Bird would have been consigned to occasional rides.

It was far too cramped for me, or maybe it was just old age ! After 17 years with the old girl, once I fitted the new bars it was a new lease of life. I had actually bought a Crosstourer when I thought the Bird was too uncomfortable but after the conversion it meant the CT could go and the bird is once again, the main method of long distance touring.

So yeah, I like em !
