On the Level ?

Hi peeps, l tend to keep me battery on trickle charge, with an "Optimiser" . I nearly always have my bb on the side stand. The question is :- could a cell or two, get damaged, if the bike / battery, isn't level ? I may be talking rubbish but, I'm wondering if the cell on the high side may not have enough electrolyte covering it, therefore, making it prone to damage. Any thoughts ? Regards, Sircular.

I dont have any faith in Optimisers and the like, but you may be on the right track, what could happen is when the plates suffer sulfation a bit on the side you say might be dry, the sulphates may gather in the battery at the lowest side ( Near side/ sidestand side) and if there's enough sulphate it may bridge a positive and negative plate and cause an internal short on a cell then it's goosed.....stick it on the centre stand, and do your N/S fork stansion some good as well howdy

The optimates 3 and 5 seemed to be the brain fart models, CTek chargers are getting good reviews and seem better for the intended use

I`ve seen good reviews about the Aldi motorcycle battery chargers/conditioners. Gonna get one next time they`re in. Regards Sircular.
