Hi peeps, I need to replace the 4 into 2
exhaust downpipes on my 1997 Bird. What I'd like to know is :- will the injected downpipes fit my bike ? It seems the earlier pipes are like hens teeth, unless you pay a premium price ! (anybody got a set for sale?) Regards, Sircular.

Hi Sircular yes injection downpipes fit the carby
and they are also stainless

all the injected downpipes will fit the carb'd bike,

the later injected have a boss which needs plugging, not an issue,

I would try and get genuine Honda not aftermarket,

it might be cheaper to buy a complete infected bike, cheap has chips (but not Kostas chips)

Taffy on BIRD will sort you a set out Len. Wouldnt be surprised if grant hasnt got a spare set either m8

Yes Len it is Grant over there and on Facebook too.

You say the earlier downpipes are like hens teeth and cost too......don't know why as the earlier ones rot unlike the FI pipes which are stainless.

Hi Murph, So far, the only after market stainless downpipes, for a carb'd Bird, I've found worth getting are from the likes of, Delkevic, Black widow or David Silver. ( hence, the premium price !) Taking on board the advice from other forum users, (both here & on the BIRD forum) I'm going to try & get a used set from a F.I. Bird. Regards.
