First ride after my flying lesson in 2007 when I was nurfed off my 'bird at a roundabout by a following car fracturing a vertebra.
Have now served the ensuing ban (from the wife, not the law)
Have been given permission to get another bike or renovate Puke the Deauville and/ or (probably or - she's a bit vague) the Coguar
Phoned a local bike training school and booked a three hour refresher course
Rode a Suksuzi SV650 to Glasson Dock and back via the twisties
Remembering the advice you lot gave my at the time of my accident - "you should ride faster" I gave it some welly
Got up to an indicated 65mph approx
All the old skills came back within a mile or so
The thing I can't believe is that my bike kit all still fitted including my lid
Need a new one but it proves my head is no larger than previously
Kept forgetting that one notch up from first gear is neutral , but it had a gear indicator so quite easy to spot
Did the roads again yesterday but ended up in Pilling (wrong turn in Cockerham)
This evening took wife to Glasson Dock and there was a P reg 'Bird there which sounded beautiful

Well have you got a new bike then Coggy.....I cant handle suspense like this

It's a little tricky to know what to get so no news as yet
The glib answer is and expensive one with a large engine so it can be exchanged for something lighter/ smaller later at no cost
Watch this space but don't hold your breath
Permission given for more back to biking rides to keep my skills up meanwhile

If you get more encouragement from the boss be aware, she may have taken out more life insurance for you over these past few years.

I hear what your saying about size weight etc, and with the current restrictions with this bollox it's pointless having a huge touring machine to pootle about the locality, So have a think about one of these.....229 kilos, 80+ MPG, cheap running costs, and lots of used bargains at reasonable prices everywhere

Got to factor in the wife who may/ may not want to ride pillion
My car mechanic has invited me on a tour of Estonia or Czechoslovakia or somewhere abroad like it
Puke the Deauville was quick enough before just with me, but slow with the pair of us on it
NC750 - I'll look into it, but this is probably my last chance to get a large engined bike
Any further ones will be smaller/lighter
