Most of you will have used the chat room now. Just to re-itterate (sorry if i've spelt that wrong!) the chat room we have now uses your forum name and pasword and requires no additional log in proceedure. It also utilizes the forum smilies which is cool too.

Benefits are that this will make the chat feature more secure, and users are instantly recognisable becuase of the username. No-one can jump in and pretend to be someone else (I've been a victim of that in the past as some of you will know).

Just to remind you guys that both chat rooms use the page refresh function, which can sometimes make it jump a tad.....

Anyway enough of me blabbing on. I need to know if you wanna stick with this chat feature of go with the older style we used to have, which is open to anyone and their grandma, in other words, non-members can jump in.

Not only the flashing but it seems that the "new" room keeps booting me out, often several times within a very short period of time. Its easy to get back in but annoying to see... "Demontat logged out at 3:54pm.... Demontat logged in 3:54pm" so on and so on.

Just want to make sure we are both talking about the same thing... Its not the "away" feature that I am referring to. I actually get dumped from the room... have to than click "join chat" from the IXXRA index. Often before this happens I am in the process of typing a response.. the cursor only shows ||||| instead of letters and than..... BOING!!! I'm out!!

Me too Demon - it's a bitch and it happens several times a session. I prefer the old one even though it ain't so secure. The chat room is for chatting, and I don't really care too much about the smileys. Old for me !

Ok then.. the general feeling was you wanted the old one back, so I've done it.

I've had to alter and removed so bits of coding from three php files (forum html files), so if there is any bugs (there shouldn't be), please let me know and I'll sort them
