Bus Lanes...

Postby bov » Tue Aug 26, 2003 10:51 pm

Coming down the Finchley road this morn. Noticed a new pic on the bus lane signs. A motorbike! Sign underneath say's "solo motorcyclists. A41 experiment begins. Use bus lane." Now this is either a canny ruse to boost red Ken's coffers ( the hare-lipped. bog-eyed, dwarf-trogg pratt! ) or else it's good news...... :?

Good news matey, I wish all local authorities would follow suit. Where I work in Bath, we can use the bus lanes which makes riding in much safer and causes little or no problems for the busses, but not in Swindon. I have also used the stretch into London on the M4 which keeps you out of mad Monday morning drivers way and speeds up the journey, safely! With the bus lanes empty most of the time, why the hell not?

Bus Lane also open to bikers in Commercial Rd.
Starts from Rotherithe(???) tunnel till start of A13 Canning town fly over.
Image …Ride carefully. It's not only bikes that can be recalled by their maker.

Whether the driver takes a pic of a biker is at his own discretion. Apparantely a survey of bus drivers showed that they didn't have a problem with bikes as they don't create congestion. Even if a bike parked in a bus lane the bus only has to swerve slightly to pass! I've even been waved INTO a bus lane by a driver with no resulting pic! Gave him a long hard look first tho'...to commit his face to memory :twisted)

WTF is a bus :? Should I be asking for the Council to install a Bus Lane round here just in case one happens to come along :? You lucky lucky people - all these magical gizmos to help congest your roads :P

At traffic lights controlled junctions we now have red boxes with folk on two wheels painted in them (maybe pedal cycles). Can we use 'em?

Here in Aberdeen, the Council has just thrown out MAG's appeal for Motorcyclists to use bus lanes......

Apparently, we are maniacs, and scare innocent bystanders with our ILLEGAL black visors, loud exhausts, and small number plates..........

All a bit problem in the centre of a city........ :banghead)

Farquads.......

Get her to tone down the loud exhaust, take off the black visor and fit a full size number plate to her back end, and she'll be a lot less intimidating!!

Where is she from?

I was referring to the fact that there ain't any of the fookers round here so I have to ferry the fookin kids everywhere and I really wish I didn't have to but I ain't moving just to catch a fookin bus or a Bus :P

Its not illegal to Mand, but I would suggest it will only give the anti-biking tvats :roll) more to moan about :thumbsdown)
Don't know what an Officer of the law at the end of a month who is short of fixed penalty tickest would do either :cry)
