4000 Mile Service

Postby Bristle Hound » Wed Sep 17, 2003 6:10 pm

Just had my xx in for its 4000 mile service today at Tillstons in Stockton
Excellent job & £98 :thumbsup) for the service which I didn't think was to bad  - Even offered me a loan bike for the day !

Only downside is the cam chain tensioners knackered :bigcry: , which is abit of a suprise since the bikes only done 4290 miles
Its back in next week to have the new part fitted under warranty :thumbsup)

Both the mechanics were suprised to, saying it usually the Cbr 600's & Zzr's that the CCT's go's so quick

Any1 else had a CCT go so quick as well :?

I would be really surprised if the CCT has actually failed after 4000 miles after seeing whats inside one. I'm in the process of doing a little bit of an article for the main page on the CCT so all will be revealed later including a lttle bit on how to check whether the CCT is the cause of the problem.

It would appear that any rattle whatsoever gets blamed on the CCT and I wouldn't be at all surprised if they change the CCT, the noise goes away for a very short time and then comes back again in the space of a few hundred miles.

Hopefully changing the CCT will sort out your problems but keep us posted.

BTW if anyone thinks they need a new CCT in the near future David Silvers has them in at only £34.
95% of all Harley Davidsons ever made are still on the road... the other 5% made it home.

Had mine changed recently and I think I've done about 350 miles since then. It has made the world of difference, but I'll let you know if it starts to rattle again :) The bike had about 11.5k on it when I first noticed it, and it got changed eventually at just short of 14k
