2200 miles 5 Countries

Postby Deano » Mon Sep 29, 2003 4:36 pm

Here are a few of many pics taken on our recent jaunt to

Holland
Germany
Switzerland
France &
Luxemburg

2200 miles done in two weeks (some at speeds in excess of 160 MPH on the autobahns :-) )

The Swiss Alps are an amazing set of twisties to be believed with scenary that takes you breath away.

The Nurburgring saw speeds in excess of 180 MPH with ease - an awesome place.

Although high speeds are mentioned above, the XX purred along very happily at normal speeds for the majority of the trip, and 120 MPH on the autobahns was a comfortable sustainable speed.

Temperatures well into the mid 20 s most of the time but did creep upto an uncomfortable 29c on one day. Sunny every day except one days rain on which we decided to do the most miles in one day - 400 - but it got us back to the sun and was a good days ride anyway.

Would I do it again???? HELL YEAH

I can only dream of doing such a journey on my Bird... someday I hope to meet like-minded friends with high quality bikes who actually live in my area!!! :banghead)

I did meet a fella who rides a very nice VFR and told me of a group that gets together every Sunday morning in a tiny little town nearby for breakfast and riding. Its not an organized club or anything, just a group of sportbikers... some of the Nashville Ducati guys as well as BMW's and Hondas... apparently not much else since we all know that... __________ !!! 8)

Great pics!! Glad to hear everyone had a fun, safe time. Thanks for sharing.
Trespass sweet the urge, give me my sin again.
