Baglux UK Discount ???

Does anyone know what the situation is with regard to Baglux and a discount for IXXRA members? Having checked on the main site we are showing that Baglux offer such a discount but when I phoned them they denied all knowledge of any arrangement.

Any help on this matter would be much appreciated.

I got the same response from them when I ordered my setup ... when I ordered my Whoppa bag a bit later I went to the US distributor out of anger.

When the Whoppa bag didn't fit properly due to my aftermarket seat I tried to contact the manufacturer of the bag to see if they had a fastener that would work with my seat... they have never even responded to my three emails!!!

I solved the problem myself with the help of a local upholsterer and I love my bags and tank cover... I am just real glad I no longer have to deal with ordering any products from Bagster, Baglux or Euro-Bikes!!!

I bought a Tank Harness and Alpha Bag this time last year. I phoned Baglux before going to the dealer and enquired about the IXXRA discount and was told that the discount would be sorted out by the dealer. So I went into Cussies and ordered the shit, then told them I wanted 10% IXXRA discount - NO PROBLEM SIR came the reply One happy little Yorkie

I bought a tank cover and shibuya bag at the start of August and Baglux couldn't have been more helpful. ( see previous thread ) I had to exchange the original cover as it wasn't quite the correct match. The guy I spoke to- Vinny sorted out another colour and sent it with the bag within a couple of days, this time with the discount of 10% which I had forgot to request on my initial order.

The bottom of my Receipt states:
member of = 10% discount
password: shuggie

Seems to me to be a (what I call) "a link site" that hasn't products at any price other than that offered by the parent company itself.

If ya try the prices link it takes you straight to the parent company ( this is the link it sends ya to http://www.bagster.com/en/catalogue.php3 ) - so where's the deal prices??????

Not trying to DIS anyone - but don't mistake true offers for "link site deals" that aren't really deals.

I am very confident about both the prices and products and services we offer.
Why not ask your members concerning feedback from us?
Bird owners throughout the world can and do buy from us.
We were offering you the genuine facility to buy great products at extremely competitive prices.

Whats negative?, the site doesnt give any indication about prices, free p&p or anything else just links to the parent companies which is what Deano pointed out there was nothing "nasty" about it. I'm of the same mind if someone is selling something and doesn't show a price I can't be arsed to contact them I usually just forget it, I may be missing out but if its not shown whats being hidden?.

Well, as with most things in life there can be several opinions be they good, bad or indifferent.
All we were doing was extending our services to what we thought were like minded motorcyclicts.
In our view, unfortunately, as borne out by Deano's comments above you chose to ridicule and belittle us.
And no Deanno we neither want, require or need any apologies from you be they private or public.
The damage has been done.
As for Bezzer, everyone has the freedom to do pretty much as they wish but do bear in mind in the future that buying anything usually involves two parties and quite frankly it would not surprise me if an owner of another business told you where to get off with an attitude such as yours.
To sum up chaps between the two of you, you have influenced MY decision to ask that you remove me immediately from your membership listing.
You may care to see that I am a member of every major BB forum throughout the world and have enjoyed everyone with the exception of this site.
I would suggest this is borne out with both your membership and online member/guest numbers...........but, hey, I'm not going there.

All I can tell is that someone commented that a cirtain site offering goods for sale didn't actually display the price of the goods...big deal.

I would suggest that visitors first read the forums to see what we're about and get to know us a little before joining up as members. This is not a flog your wares site, but a meeting place for friends to enjoy eachothers company. Shop keepers please note, just because you have things to sell doesn't mean we have to buy with no questions asked, especially when the question was to know the price of your goods.

I have only just looked at this thread for the first time and quite frankly, I am amazed at the comments above. I am a member of a number of BB sites, but choose to spend most of my time on the IXXRA site, because quite frankly, I enjoy the banter and good humour of its members.

I can see nothing above that leads me to think that Deano was being anything other than observant. He clearly states that there are no prices displayed and the catalogue link takes you to the Bagalux site. All true!

I do not understand why Bob has got so upset. Quite frankly, when I go to a web site looking to purchase goods, I expect to be told how much I will have to pay, not just how much it will cost to post the items. That is the whole point of a vendor’s web site, to get people to make purchases. How could one know if a product is competitively priced if the price is not displayed?

Bob, going by the tone of you latest you may never see this post, but If you do; I am just an average consumer who owns a Blackbird. My view is impartial; I have no axe to grind and not particular desire to take sides either way. But, I think you got the wrong end of the stick and are being unnecessarily sensitive. I don’t think Deano was having a pop but your attitude and over reaction has definitely made me think twice about putting any of my business your way.

I am just one voice and you may not care one way or the other if I spend my money with you or not, but believe me, there will be many more who will form an opinion based on the above, members or not. Its up to you, but I would have thought that someone in your position would take more care to keep on the positive side of consumers rather than alienating them!

Can someone show me where this is? merely saying the site was linked to manufacturer ones isn't ridicule or belittling just stating a fact.

I disagree your honour - if people want to flog stuff on this site, I have no problem at all with that..........as long as it's all above board, up front, a quality service delivered with honesty and sincerity (which takes it well out of the frame for being suitable for Fat Gert and his 'Friend'), and quality stuff at a decent price - preferably with free samples for Taz BUT - there is a proper way of doing things, and that would be to approach the guys and gals who pay for and RUN this site and get permission first - see, easy innit

I have been on the webite of Bobs, and it does say choose from the manufacturers website, then email him for the best possible price. and it also says that "standard" paostage is included in the price...Next day is extra (with costs)

I havent known Bob for very long, but I have always thought him an honest and "honourable man". It does say on the site that it is his trading name.. I dont, in all honesty think he was trying to hide the fact, but thought that you would see for yourselves.

As you know, I dont like having to choose my freinds from one of two sides, and I wont do it this time... I have freinds on this site, and freinds on the other site as well, and want both groups to get the best available service... I am NOT into commercialism on the clubsites, BUT, I dont mind anyone getting a good deal if its offered to them... On that, Taz & I are in total agreement.

I am not plugging Bobs site, but I dont want you lot to lose out on what may be a very useful company to do busines with.

Sorry if I am going on, but I am not having a very brilliant day today, and my goat is up (as they say)
