Hanging my head in shame.......

Postby space invader » Wed Oct 08, 2003 10:46 pm

Had a go at one of them Eye-abuser things today......

Not as comfy as my 'Bird.....

As light on the move as my 'Bird, and possibly a bit friendlier in the corners.

Ugly as sin........

But by fook it can shift..... ( okay, the one I was on was slightly "tweaked")

All round, with the bairn and all, I'll always stick with the 'Bird, a better "all round" bike, but if you are for out and out Head down missile material, this is the one for you.....

Jeezus, I'd never thought I'd be typing this!

My next bike will be a 'Bird, you can't pick "Quickness" over quality.

The owner of said bike is going to trade it in this week because it has done 11,000 miles, (The bike is 1 year old)
"it will be worth nothing second hand if I don't get rid of it now"

That says it all........

Can't say you haven't tried one now SI and just reinforces your good taste 8).
Never ridden one meself, just sat on one and it didn't "feel right" somehow so never took it any further... that was in the dark days when I was trying to make up my mind what bike I was having.
The bird does it for me for looks and has more than enough comfort, power and handling for what I want it for so I have no complaints at all and not even considering looking for any other bike.
95% of all Harley Davidsons ever made are still on the road... the other 5% made it home.

SI's little experiment reminds me of the standards by what actions make you gay or not. :P Such as....

1. You're not gay if you are doing it to settle a debt.

2. You're not gay if you don't get a hard-on while doing it.

3. You're not gay if you are imprisoned for more than 5 years.

There are more, but you get the idea.... :P

To tie it all together with what SI did.... why even stick a dick in your mouth for fear that you may actually like it!!! :D :D
Trespass sweet the urge, give me my sin again.

The Birds the bike for me, have to be honest and say it was the styling that did it for me...I think I would have still bought her if she was a 600cc.

I'd sooner commit adultry on my missus than on my Bird.
(and my missus is in safe hands with me)

S.I Repent you have and all is forgiven...DON'T DO IT AGAIN....

As an ex ZZR1100 owner, it was a combination of factors for me. Looks, of course (sooooo much better than the ZZR) but it was the awesome power that made me look closer. The icing on the cake was the Rider Power survey results last year, which demonstrate the quality, reliability handling etc. to be second to none.

It is a real world bike. Yes there are bikes that are, on paper at least, faster. There are bikes that will go round corners a bit quicker (as I found out trying to keep up with a couple of gixer thous a few weeks back, although I did hold my own against an R1!), there are bikes that will tour more comfortably and many that will return higher MPG figures. But I am still absolutely convinced that there is not a single bike that will acheive as good a mix of all of these characteristics with such aplomb whilst being built to such a high standard. The Bird is not, as some may say, a jack of all trades, it is more a master of many!!!!

I would like to have a go on a few other bikes but I will always ride home on me bird :wink) This is my second Blackbird, so it must be good!

I don't blame you for trying out a hey-abuser, its fookin quick after all, just fugly as a pound of slapped twat! But you've got the good sense to know that the Bird is the better bike all round :rockon)
