Fookinell!!

Postby Gizzit » Sun Oct 19, 2003 9:16 pm

Took me Bird for a blast this avvy and it felt like someone had just flipped a 'quick switch' in the engine. Just done over the 2000 miles and she is really quickening up. It took me by suprise a bit, wellied the throttle over taking a car and fookin slid back on the seat the acceleration was so rapid :D

After me old carbed bird, I always thought this one 'felt' a little slower but put that down to the lack of 'flat spot' compared to me carbed one which used to take off ar around 5.5 - 6k ish. Not on any more, fook its quick :bigshock)

What sort of miles did you guys do before getting 'the quick effect' on new ones?

Its loosening up now dude but what's also helping is the colder weather, they run a lot better and stronger in the cold dense air. :D
95% of all Harley Davidsons ever made are still on the road... the other 5% made it home.

Colder denser air will have a lot to do with it - mines the same too. But if the air is cooler, check your tyre pressures, you may well be down a few psi and with the cooler roads comes less grip so your tyre pressures are even more important.

Yep gotta agree, although the colder wheather makes me knees knock against the tank, it sure makes a big difference to the power. :D

Gizzit - whilst you're noticing a difference already, your Bird's motor won't spin up nice and freely until it's totally loosened up, which in my experience is the other side of 12,000 miles...............it'll just get stronger and stronger and stronger...............
