I have a built in one from Blueyonder, my server, and another one with the wireless network router.

Maybe you want to post that link in the Pandora's box

Just......... can't ............seem............to............ nah, ya gunna have to do it for me again BH. Way too much effort

Yus, I do use a firewall, Norton Internet Security. Seems pretty good, comes with anti virus too which has stopped everything so far (I hope :oops) ) Software firewalls will only go so far though. To really protect yer stuff you need a hardware jobbie, but a bit on the expensive side :bigcry:

Well you did ask.....
I'm not paranoid or anything but it is a service that's built in and I have no say if I have it or not...Oh...and I also use the Norton Security and Anti-Virus....

I too use Zone Alarm, but I'm gonna have to get playing with it soon cuz it stops me from using Internet Connection Sharing via Win2k and it pizzes me off when the kids hog the fookin puter :roll) When I get Broadband I'll buy a router at the same time and do the job proper like - I might even invest in a wireless LAN but if I do that, I might as well wait until the IP version of the Home Entertainment Management System comes out next spring and go the whole fookin hog :D

I used one on the Norton Utilities programme, right up until Mr Norton decided to take over both my laptop and base set, resulting in a total loss of all my files when i had to format the hard drives. :bigcry: :bigcry:

Taz, there is a way to make ZA allow ICS, theres a tickbox hidden away somewhere to tell it that your PC is a gateway, it had me tearing my hair out until I found it. There's no way I'd be without a firewall on broadband, dialup peeps don't have to worry so much, but it's a must with bb.

I've started swotting up on Windows 2k Networking so I can take the MCP exam, so I'm probably going to learn enough on that to configure my network properly :roll) I've already enabled the gateway thingy so I'll have another look around and see if therez summat else I need to do :banghead) Thanks anyway dude :thumbsup)
