Are all BB seats the same?

Postby mr sat nav » Wed Aug 06, 2008 10:22 pm

Greetings campers! I'm picking up my BB on Sat, consequently I am knew to this site and keen to pick up as much info as possible. As always with these forum's apologies if I am missing old threads or on the wrong part of the site. What I woud like to know is if all the seats are the same?

Only asking as there is a seat on flea bay that I want to buy and send off to get customised with some gel inserts as I am getting old!!

Lots of people change their seats as it's generally accepted that the stock seat is a tad uncomfy.

I personally had a melboy gel seat on mine and it was as comfy as your favourite armchair.

Other people have other seats and swear by them equally, so it isn't a case of one size fits all. It might be worth trying out a few of the options before you part with your cash.

And welcome to Ixxra
I have taken to wearing High Heels these days...although the Greenkeeper goes fookin barmy with me

Hi Hugh

Thanks for advice, if you have any links to the webite of the people that customised your seat that would be muchly appreciated!

Can you confirm that any BB seat will fit any bike or have they changed with each new model that has been introduced?

E'rrrrr

All seats are the same :wink)
There is nothing wrong with the way I ride.

Just stay 15 feet in front or 15 feet behind. You need to be 15 feet to my left or right.

Any closer and your MINE all MINE

hi, Sat Nav,

yes, they are the same apart from the later bikes having a slightly different covering on them. :-?

i personally found the standard seat fine but my wife got numb bum on it so i replaced it with a gel seat (viper) and to be truthful, i wouldn't go back. :)

so in short, standard seat good for me but gel more comfy.

try the standard one for a while before you part with the hard earned. :roll)

hope this helps

regards
Iain

You will have to look at the Corbin Custom with Sheep Carrying Rack for those long romantic rides across NZ. :twisted)

Just be careful though, wool dags and lanolin play havoc with chain lube. :wink)

So speaks the voice of experience, eh?

Get a Scottoiler then, it'll also keep your fingers clean for when you're tenderly running your fingers through her fleece in those post event 'cigarette' moments.
