if you just wanted to have the panniers fitted to the bike do you need to fit the top plate a well

nope but there is 2 small brackets that fit to the grabrail fixing bolts

top tip..dont enter the blackwall tunnel with 3m headroom when driving 3.02 height!!!!!!

Are they the ones that come with the it and do you still have to lose the grab rail

mine has the back rack fitted too ..b ut a good guess and from seeing all the bits id say you can have the chicken rail fitted as well as the panniers but not the rack too

The Motech does look good unlike the Givi scaffolding that I use, was thinking about changing but if I'm right, do you loose the grab rail when the top box plate is fitted? or is there a way round this?

If so that coupled with the lack of visibility of the rear indicators at certain angles make it a no no!

there is a plate that fits behind the number plate which has the holes for fixing the indicators, i use the small dinky ones and didnt have to move them so just ground off the bits on the bracket before fitting it
worse ways if you move them and you still worried to an aj and fit some of those sexy flush indicators to the top box..personlly im always so far ahead of other riders the angle of the rear indicators isint a problem :mrgreen:

re the grabrail:..anythings possible if you have access to a decent mill and lathe but would be a lot of hassle to keep the rail with top box carrier
