Ferries to France....

Postby Marathon Man » Fri Mar 30, 2007 8:05 pm

Just a quick note for anyone wishing to cross the channel via Condor or Brittany Ferries out of Weymouth or Poole to France over the next week or so.

The ferry terminals at the two ports are going to be closed, following the last sailing tomorrow (Saturday), until Good Friday. The reason for the closure is to allow the terminal’s arrivals and departures areas to be re-levelled. They will end up being laid to a new height so that they will line up with the loading bays on the ferries that do the crossing between here and France. Apparently the terminals in France and the rest of the south coast of England are set at a different height and Poole and Weymouth are the only two ports left to be sorted out. And they have to do it just before Easter as well! Bummer eh! Anyhow, looks like if you’ve already booked a ferry you’ll have to use Portsmouth or Plymouth instead. Bon voyage!
