I think you've got it in one....

The best way is just to follow the sun, I personally really would not pin myself down to "must get to the south of france", as we've found previously, planning to get to the south of france, and it was a total wash out/floods and all, so we didn't go. Instead, we opted for mid france, with beautiful weather.

Most hotel rooms have tv's, so just catch the local weather forecast, (even if you don't understand the language - they have pretty pictures).

Looks like you are all jacked up, but as a France regular, you can't go wrong with the south-east. :D

Get yourselves over to Dijon and head directly south down the impressive vineyards. At Lyon turn east to take in the Alps/Lake Geneva area, then when you have had enough of mountains, get yourself down into the Provence region (east of Montelimar and Orange)....the most beautiful area I have ever experienced!! :D  :P  :D

That's my humble opinion, but I absolutely love the country as a whole!!

There is nothing wrong with the way I ride.

Just stay 15 feet in front or 15 feet behind. You need to be 15 feet to my left or right.

Most of France is gorgeous and a great place to tour. If you're travelling to Le Havre, watch out for the double bridges coming out / going in. They are a tad steep and quite high in the centre! Normandy and Brittany are great places and only a short stop off the ferry. If you want to travel and bit further south, the Ile de Re just off La Rochelle is also a beautiful place to stay. This is also a nice place to stay and the bloke who owns it is a biker.

Enjoy

NOTE - Two bridges, one small one, one ginagasaurus one. The bonus is there is only a pay toll for the big bridge, but if you stick to the RIGHT there is a little filter lane for bikes to go free - otherwise it is 5 Euros.
