Touring the Black Forest

Postby Jerome » Fri Dec 14, 2007 2:35 pm

Hi all,

My other half and I are looking into trips for 2008.

We have decided to try out the Black Forest in June next year for two weeks.

Accomodation will be around the St Peter area; around 20km east of Frieberg.

We have a few ideas for things to see:

Lake Constance
Frieberg
Mount Kandel and Feldberg for their views
Titisee
Heidelberg

Will be stopping off an Reims on the way down then heading through Hollental as I understand this is a rather good B road route to the place. We will spend a couple of nights on the way back through France too.

Can anyone recommend elsewhere they may have been which is worth a visit around the Black Forest?

Thanks muchly.

To be quite honest Jerome - I don't think you'd be disappointed anywhere in the Black Forest, roads are brill and scenery to match - I don't know if you have seen these write ups?

There's also some great riding, starting at Baden Baden, there's a natural loop, travel the 500 south, then head towards Baiersbronn, then the 462 back north towards Forbach - we have some other routes we can recommend, so I'll post 'em soon for you

Yep, thats actually what got me thinking about the area, and the fact that Kim, my better half, works for a International Banking firm and someone she knows from across the water rents out their Holiday Flat in St Peter and will let us park our Bikes in her Garage!!

Thanks
