Dunkirk is ok and plenty of b+b's, if ya live close to dover, then fire up to austria easy in a half days ride  the roads are to die for, well not literally you wont regret it.. :wink)
Its not the falling off that hurts it's the stopping

Hi
The Somme area is excellent - very quiet back roads and nice views - anywhere near Albert or Peronne would do .
OR
Duns sur Meuse near Verdun - excellent local roads and very pretty . Stay at Two Wheel Moorings in the town - Ian + Carol are smashing and have been hosting me on a regular basis on several occassions . They even put up with my dad :roll)
OR
Anywhere near Laon , Soissons + Compeigne - again nice views , forests and empty back roads . Laon is especially good for the night , lots of bars in the old town on the hill and even more in the new bit .
Try the Hotel Commerce next to the railway station - secure parking out the back . The rooms are very french :|

Do a stoppie, pull a wheelie then do a donut outside Houses of parliment, you get a damn good ride round with fan club, and accomodation is free with room service. :-? :twisted)

Dunno what its like abroad, but they have guns so u will need bigger balls and faster bike
