Panniers and Akrapovic exhaust. Possible?

Postby Tom Chantler » Tue May 27, 2008 2:51 pm

I just bought a blackbird about a week ago and I wonder if any of you lot know if I'll be able to fit Givi E41 panniers with either a Givi Wingrack or a Motech rack. The reason I ask is that my Akrapovic exhaust seems to be slightly higher than the standard Honda one (although not by much).

Do either of these systems involve the pannier boxes hanging OUTSIDE the exhaust? Or do they stop just above it (in which case I might be in trouble). Any help would be very gratefully received!

Here is a pic. What do you reckon? I don't want to buy all the kit and then have to sell it immediately and lose money!

EDIT: I've already seen this page: http://www.ixxra.com/luggagehard.htm and it looks like I should be okay, but would I? And would I be okay with a wingrack? Or is Motech MILES better? Motech seems to cost about £250+. :(

Lol @ aj's name for me (I've deffo been called worse). Yeah the bike is a nice one. Amazingly swift compared to the old Pan!

As for the gardening, that's mostly next door's you can see... honest! :oops)

I reckon it's just a tiny bit higher than standard, cos the standard one seems to line up with the bottom of the tail tidy/number plate bracket/whatever the feck it's called. I could easily be wrong though. I hope so!

Thanks for the friendly welcome! :D
