Now this really is near Hirwaun and is easily my favourite stretch of road in Wales. :P

Does the xx need the anti dazzle stickers?? :-?

I know most bikes and cars need them because, with UK fitted reflectors/glass, the beam not only goes straight out, but also lights up the road to the left.

But isn't the xx light just a straight forward beam with no deflection up to the left?? :-?

xx has been fitted with 3 different types of headlamp unit Bernie. You'll need to look at the back of the unit, if it's marked EU- it's fine, if it's marked UK- you'll need beam benders and if it's unmarked it's a flat beam unit and legal in EU without mod. This is from memory of a thread on here a good while ago!

No need to bother m8, if there's a problem the French police will tell you, it's all part of the service

Having owned 2 XX's now the first was an import the beam on that went the wrong way for the uk but obviously ok for europe, my new ride is a uk bike and that has a flat beam i.e no kick up on either side just flat and that will be fine in europe too, be warned of sticking things to your headlight on my old bike for the mot i had stick tape on it to get the correct beam pattern the glue of the tape (electrical) melted into the headlight leaving what can best be described as a scar on the headlight

As far as GB stickers go, I thought they were only required to let other driver know that you were driving a right hand drive car. So unless your thottle is on a different side to European bikes, you shouldnt need it.

As far as I'm aware they're still needed on bikes.

I simply captured an image from ebay, put it into Word and made it the size I needed to fit under the number plate.

I printed it, covered it in clear selltape and stuck it on.

Price - virtually nothing and it'll keep plod happy.

The docs here if you want to do the same : http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3628815/GB%20Sticker.doc

just get a shiny new reg plate and have the gb logo put in the bottom corner plus you could get it personalised with a bit of text at the bottom
