I've never bothered and not had a problem .....

You should have one though ... although I've never looked into what the penalty is ...

You could always carry one and try the old "it must have come off ... but I've got a spare here" ??

John, I'm going to the Kent bike show tomorrow and the plate man should be there. £15.00 for a Euro bike plate. PM your reg number if you want one, mate.

Terry
Today is the first day of the rest of your life. But so was yesterday, and look how you messed that up.

Boring legal bit - if you have an old style uk plate then any sticker displayed must have GB in same size letters as the ones on the plate itself . Otherwise its a euro plate as mentioned . Personally i have never heard of anyone getting a tug for not displaying - but then you never know :P

Never mind your lights - if you want to get in the sXXt big time then speed on the peage . At the moment anywhere in the area of Arras is a no no re speeding . There are mobile cameras on most RN s + the A26 Peage heading to and from the ports . They are very very hot on it - i go to France about twice a month at the mo and there is always laser traps near that town . Take care cos the fine will make your eyes water :bigcry:

I've never fitted beam deflectors but I have always shown a GB sticker when abroad. I usually place it on one of the panniers. It's just a matter of remembering to put the correct pannier on the correct side or else the GB sticker will be on the front :oops)

My answer to GB sticker?

My son and I bought some GB stickers along with the Wales stickers from Asda. They're about 2 or 3 quid each as I recall but they're top quality. They also do George cross, Andrew cross etc.

We then cut up some old paint trays to fit the stickers to and trimmed the shape so they looked nice. They're fitted to the bikes using the original number blate bolts so are easilly removeable after your trip. Here they are - sorry for the large picture.

fitted couple small stickers to either side of number plate, union jack and george cross, also got big GB on one pannier..

always ride with lights on anyway but never used beam deflectors, been abroad loads and never been pulled over (sits with fingers crossed)

guess its probably the same in this country, depends what side of bed the cop who pulls you got out of.... or prehaps who's bed his wife got out of :D

Near Hirwaun? It may have the same climate in April but is actually about 700 miles away as the Blackbird flies.

It's taken on the Lv401 between Berga and Coll De Nargo in the Spanish Pyrenees.

The photo was taken in April 07. We got pissed on for a whole week!!!
