They are right about the E111. It doesnt exist any more. You need a European Health Insurance card.

You can get them online from

https://www.ehic.org.uk/InternetPROD/home.do

It only takes 48 - 72 hours for one to come nicely through your front door... not bad for a Gov office.

Dont leave home without it...LOL

And if you're going to the czec republic... Check your insurance, coz most insurers dont cover it as part of the European cover.

Please Check for Czec.. :oops) ..Corny but so so true.

All sensible advice, but will there be any room for a rider?

i have a day 12 tour round europe every year and take the panniers top box and tank bag, plus all tha camping equipment,,
one tip i do is to pack my mattress in the tankbag, as it is quite heavy it adds a liitle ballast to the front end of the bike..

also i go to my local primark or other cheap shop, and buy a dozen or so pairs of cheap socks, kegs and t shirts, once worn they are simply discarded wherever we stop( plus if you ever get lost you can retrace your route with the smell or sight of said kegs hanging in trees/bushes/overhead cables).

some things i always carry are some cable ties , the quick release ones they are invaluable. an allen key that fits the plastics and finally a gator grip and ratchet, a gator grip is a socket with loads of what looks like allen keys inside it which allows it to fit and grip any size socket.

Also i only take 1 towel, its a nikwax travel towel which is only slightly larger than a teatowel but can easily dry yourself after a shower, plus it dries in no time at all and is machine washable, i got it from local camping shop for £20 but they are a lot cheaper now.

Just me two pennith for what its worth

Camping ??? jawdropping jawdropping

Don't do anything less that a villa or decent hotel.....

Laying in a field full of ants, beetles, bugs, worms, frogs, mice n rats ain't my idea of a holiday...

Ya cant beat a nice clean proper bed every night :wink) (With a complimentary bar of course)

Apart from which, my tother half has osteo-arthritis, so it rules out camping on the damp/cold ground :cry)

Best wishes,

Rolfy
