Going to the Black Forest in June. Any hints on good rides when we get there?

Tip for ya remember this word. PENSION and no it's not something you can claim when ya finished work. It is in fact a B&B and they are everywhere at very reasonable rates and are usually fantastic accom for the price (unlike some of the crapholes here). All will welcome you as a biker and most will offer you their own garage as bike parking.

Enjoy the whole region and look out for a wierd road sign that leads into some bends. It is a sign of a biker with his/her knee on the ground - cool or what. But beware this sign means TIGHTENING bend so please be alert for this sign ok.

All you really need is a creditcard and a toothbrush and go wherever the sun is shining you will always find a PENSION when you get there.

Enjoy

Never been that far south YET !!!

One piece of advice I can give you is..

DO NOT FILTER through traffic...

TOTALLY illegal in Germany... If they see you doing it, they will lock you up & throw away the key...

If you get pulled byt the Polizie, be very, very, very polite, and helpful, and the chances are they will let you off any little misdemeaners. If you arent, then its a long walk home when they have confiscated your bike... :(

Just remember also, that not all Autobahns are de restricted, and speed limits DO apply on a lot of sections...

Enjoy Germany, it is a wonderful country to ride in... The roads are almost billiard table smooth, and they are deceptively fast when having fun... Also the germans bikers wave at every bike they pass (its easy being on the other side of the road) Very friendly...

Jan & I love the place... Off to the german blackbird bash at Alsfeld at the end of May.

Enjoy.

Cad, go for it mate, you'll love it, think Deano's post sum's it all up.

As for 'filtering', Dave's right but when your stuck in a 20 mile tailback on a friggin autobahn, as we were last year going to Praha, the German bikers filtered, so we did. All I can say is don't get caught.
Oh and can you believe it Scott oilers are illegal in Germany, somert to do with polution :holdbreath)

Have a good un mate!

Can you tell my keyboard wasn't working :roll) I've only been in the car which as you know is a different experience to going on the bike, but having experienced it on four wheels I really would like to do it on 2 :wink) Someday soon perhaps - you never know :wink)

Enjoy it and don't forget to report back lads (n lasses) :thumbsup)
