Italy Routes, help needed

Postby jack » Sun Mar 27, 2005 5:53 pm

Has anyone got any?

Never done Italy and from what I have been told there's not many routes other than the dreaded M/way. We plan to take in Pisa, Rome and Naples on the Med side, before crossing over to return up the Adriatic side.

Any info would be much appreciated 8)

Can't help with the routes Jack but when ya get to Naples, wear 2 sets of earplugs to drown out the sound of the car horns, and watch out for 10 year old kids cominghurtling along from any direction on little put puts :bigshock)

Hi Jack
Did that trip last year. Your right only the coastal route.
Here's one of the hotels I used last year near Naples. Ask for a room with balcony over looking the bay of Baia.

FAF, settle down lad; ya getting confused......100 euro's for a triple room is only 30 per head. lol

With views like that, it's worth 100 per head, not room 8)

Italy

If you get the chance go in or come out via the Mont Blanc tunnel. Fantastic!! Good French National and Departmental (our A & B roads but better) down there. Bit of M/Way but that's how it goes. Italian drivers are great?? :P . All get a new horn every Xmas cos they wear them out through the year. Watch out for those crazy 'anything hanging off your shoulder goes with them' putt putts. Ice Cream is nice too :D. Coast road is good I used to do it in a artic so a bike is way easier. Carabinieri (national police) take no prisoners so beware. Apart from that ENJOY!! 8)
