Postby davcar » Sun Jul 17, 2005 5:31 pm

We are planning a trip to Ireland for four days from 29th July - we've never been so want suggestions for routes, b and b and any other information you have. Thanks.

The only thing I'll say about Southern Ireland is that its incredibly bumpy!!!!!!! :headbang)

I mean incredibly! :headbang)

I used to havea BMW 1150 GS and ithe bumps caused the front indicators to come loose and literaly hang by their wires!!! :-?

I'd tighten them up and 10 miles later the same again!! :evil)

My brother inlaw was on a Blackbird and he found numerous loose nuts and bolts daily! :banghead)

Your shock will get a good work out thats for sure!

I recommend you use someone elses bike!

Irelands great though........apart from the roads, mind you the odd piece of European funded tarmac is nice even if it only lasts for 500 yards!!!!

Good Luck. :)

I wonder how long it is since you's have been over here. sounds like a road horror story with all the loose nuts and bolts, i don't think it's really that bad, i've been all over Ireland north and south on several XX and never had any problems, even got a slap on the wrist and let off for, let's say excessive speed, by the Garda (police) and re the european funded roads sure they are some of the best roads in europe now and stretch a lot longer than few yards just my two-bob's worth.
