How fast with bags

Postby Jari Pouta » Sat Oct 07, 2006 5:49 pm

I have a Kappa rack and two Kappa bags. I've done about 220 km/h at a highway in Finland. Any experiences, how fast can you ride without wobbling? The Bird is not (?) designed for this luggage...?
What about Honda's Ready To Go -bags?
And what about with tailbag only?

This doesn't mean, that I am a speed maniac, but...You know...
When spring comes, the most wonderful voice to hear is The Blackbird singing...

Jari, I tour with full Givi hard luggage and have no problem upto 120mph, but from 125 it can get a little scary if you don't know what's happening,

I've had 185 showing on the clock (165? on GPS) while going to Praha a couple of years back.

But find it most comfortable to just 'coast' along at 120 - 125, there's not a lot overtaking you at this speed. :wink)

I hasten to had (no pun intended) that I'm talking about riding in Germany! :wink)

personally, we never ever go over 50 mph....with or without boxes...

Dont fancy running out of oxygen at 60mph & crashing the bike :bigcry:

err i think the main point is how much crap you load in the boxes and how well the shock is set up for it
stick a set of luggage on a bird with a knackerd or badly set up shock and it hicarumba time lol
Lifes too short to eat cheap food!
top tip..dont enter the blackwall tunnel with 3m headroom when driving 3.02 height!!!!!!
