Postby adamtk » Sun Jan 15, 2012 8:52 am

Hi all

Now own 97 bird. Took abit of a risk and bought a trade in with 53k on the clock at a bargain price of £1550 and it is nearly MINT. Well happy with her had it checked over by Honda and he said it is sweet as a nut music to my ears evenif i did travel 470 miles to get it!!

Hi Adam and welcome :thumbsup)

53k on a Bird is only just run in mate so the milage is not a problem.... mite pay to drop the oil and filter just for your own peace of mind tho...

Theres just a few little niggles that the Bird is prone to but they are well known and well documented so once they are sorted she will be pretty much bullet proof... 8)

Have you bought it for touring ??

Enjoy the forum :ride)

Cheers guys.

Had a firestorm about 2 years ago then went to a dullville as im an instructor just got this now as a personal bike as i have another dullville for work.

FIRST 6 MILES TODAY AND..........
engine cut out had to call the bloody AA was thinking o s**t.

Was gonna get him to take me home and i took the tank off myself as it seemed like fuel. AA bloke didnt want to touch it. And a hose had come off bottom vacum hose?

All sorted now thank god.

What are common issues then?

duh bad luck for a start !

Common issues on a 98 Bird?

Tricky one that. Only my opinion from my own experience and information I've read ( and I stand corrected) but there are no issues with the Perfectly designed and built 1998 Carb'd SuperBlackbird. Yes, there are normal wear and tear issues.. "crappy" CCT ( cam chain tensioner), worn out rear shock, worn out/tired front suspension . Only thing I can think of that's crap from the start is the luminosity of the headlight, easily remedied by HID dip unit. Oh yea, the main thing that's really wrong is it goes too fast too quickly and makes you giggle a lot. Been giggling 7 years now and it aint from my missus telling jokes cos she doesn't.

lol

( she's sat across the room from me as I write this and hasn't got a fookin clue. lol )

Oooooooooh ya sneaky bastid Ramo  hiding them in the Newbies section now! :getthis) I hope your next shite is a "Hedgehog"!!!!!!!!
In my defence I visited the flora and fauna to examine a rare insect not normally seen in the northern hemisphere and such a find would cause such a stir in the world of "Entomology" (Look it up ya thick coont)..... Ahem now then Adam welcome to the madhouse as you can see the Piss taking is all done in the best possible taste and it's at an advanced level but don't worry you'll soon be stuck in there with the best of em!
