New to IXXRA

Hi, New member in Peterborough UK with a 2000 Bird in blue. Interested in all things Blackbird. which I bought last year after 17 years of VFR 800Fi's which is another great bike but a little too small for 2 up long distance stuff - although we did ride round Spain and France and Italy on it.

The bike is blue with a few mods such as risers, motad exhaust, corbin seat, powder commander 3, and had a Givi Wingrack 2. Just trying out 15 grade fork oil to see how it changes the front end - so far its pretty stiff!

'Tis a quiet place here these days due to fickle fekkas fekkin off to seemingly more glamorous and glittery places
However there are some of us purists left who actually own and use the Blackbird. The Bird still, after all these years , 'floats ma boat'
As for Bernard Matthews territory, we have a Member by the name of Bluegas that s from your neck of the woods. He has a Blackbird that he keeps in the shed, the daft Northern monkey.

Oh yeah, your Bird. As DA says, get some pics up and a few more details eh...mileage for starters. As for the Corbin seat, it's fugly but soooooo comfy. Love mine

Dont worry about the two up touring with the bird.. I used to load mine like a van and go into Europe ..
two up. They can handle the extra weight no probs.. in fact I always say they handle better two up

Hmmm, thats food for thought OB. summink I hadn't really given much thought in the past.

Thinking back, on rides of yore AND discounting the fact that I aint no riding god, I do remember the riders that had pillíons, namely their wives, I could not keep up with if reajlly "going for it" Names that vividly spring to mind are Maxx and Kay, Schlink and Meeshy and Sisco and Ange. One ride springs to mind was up the Shap road north. Absolutely fekkin "nailing it and at my limit as we crested the summit, Schlink , Meeshy and Sisco and Ange both overtook on a fekkin curve and across light lorry quarry dust both steady as a rock. Me, I just shat myself.

I once took my fat fooker of a brother in law on the back of me first 'Bird around the borders, absolutely terrifying. I could barely keep the front wheel on the ground.
