earphones or helmet speakers?

Postby Mister Majestik » Mon Apr 18, 2011 8:21 pm

what do you use?

been using earphones but, right pain to keep in ears when putting helmet on,

does a helmet have to be very quiet to use helmet speakers?

helmet speakers seem cheap to buy, compared to decent earphones

any recommendations?

Heard lots (pardon the pun) about earphone speakers...y'know, moulded to fit snug and all that but I always wondered about it being a pain to put helmet on and connecting up etc.

I use the Autocom "headset" headphones and think they are spot on ( OK , I haven't used owt else to compare but haven't wanted to. After all, if it aint broke then don't mend it eh :wink) )

The headset isn't beyond the clumsiest of persons to fit, but once in place, they work a treat and only require plugging the DIN plug into its counterpart when required.

Sound quality is superb. Helmet type contributes to how well they perform. I use a Shoei with a "whisper kit" ..a neck seal basically to keep draughts out and therefore noise. It's that good I can hear myself trump in between music pauses !! lol

carn't I just plug helmet speakers straight into the zumo?

seconded with the headset, We use Intaride headsets and rate them highly, going to be a bluetooth option out soon as well so as to lose the curly lead...

We also wear earplugs with the headsets as well Ramo, no probs at all :thumbsup)

http://www.intaride.com/parts.html

make sure they fit your system Ramo

old bull

just been on their site, no mention of fitting sevice,

this is what I found in their help section,

'We are an Internet-Based company, but in order to give you the very best service that we can, we have an “Emergency Help” phone line, held open from 9am to 5pm. By “Emergency” we mean customers who experience a problem whilst out and about, or if you are using our equipment as part of your business during the working day. If your question can possibly wait for an Email, we would sincerely appreciate it if you would use that method to contact us and so avoid lengthy waits to speak with an engineer'

are the difficult to install?, need advice on what I need, will ring them tomorrow

cheer steve

Plus another with the headset thing... and Steve, you don't need a fitting service pal, take your time and it's not at all difficult to fit up :thumbsup)
Eliminate the impossible. Whatever remains, however improbable, must be the part you forgot to service.

just a zumo with earphone, sick of em keep coming out.

rang intaride today, with regard buy a evo lite but they have no stock at the moment (no evos at all),
as they are waiting to introduce a newer version.
(dont know if thats good or bad)
they could not give a date when one would be available, only that its got to pass all the tests first.
thanks for the link OB, they are a lot cheaper than the autocom, do you use them?
I dont need the bike to bike stuff, just want to hear music/sat nav

(OB will check for reply in a bit, just going to fill up, think I'm going out tomorrow on bike)
cheers

OB
can pick them up cheap, but after talking to autocom/starcom,intaride they won't be loud enough without some type of unit to amplify which the mentioned units do.
told would not hear anything at speed, which I belive, if the earphones I use come slightly out or move, its very difficult to hear.
been p----sing around long enough, on about 5th diff earphones, want something decent now,

would have liked to sort something out this week while I'm off, but not going to pidcocks to buy autcom com(price is about double intraride with all the bits)
will wait, would like to see a helmet set up before buying,

where in notts are you?
