Satnav in France

Postby Akuji » Tue Jul 10, 2012 8:54 pm

Be warned that any device capable of warning of speed camera locations in France are now illegal over there and hefty fines for those caught

Radar detectors have been illegal for years but now the law has been extended to satnavs etc with poi files warning of camera locations.

You have been warned.

Doesn't matter if it's switched off, it's still illegal. Bit like having a radar detector in the boot which is illegal too even if off. If you update a Tom Tom it removes the French cameras completely.

Also not sure if it applies to bikes but from July 1st all cars must carry a breathalyser although fines won't be issued until September. Single use alcosense available in halfrauds for a fiver.
