A bit of the Long Way Round

Postby AllanW » Tue Feb 27, 2007 9:36 pm

I’m organising a 2 week trip to ride to the former Russian state of Ukraine to raise funds for the charity, Chernobyl Children’s Project (UK) which help children in the area who are still being affected by the aftermath of the nuclear disaster. We will be riding through Holland, Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Belarus and Ukraine. On route we are hoping to visit a Polish salt mine, the infamous Auschwitz and once we get to Kiev, there will be an excursion to the site of Chernobyl and the abandoned town of Pripyat. This would have to rate one of the weirdest day trips you’re ever likely to experience! There are 5 places left, so do something fun, worthwhile and make a few new friends this year and join us on what will be a truly fantastic event (plus, do a bit of good at the same time!). You only have to raise £1000 in sponsorship and you can get all the details at http://www.bike-aid.org.uk

Regards, Allan
