Blue Lamp ride

Postby Chrisevans41 » Sat Nov 12, 2011 6:54 pm

On the subject of decent UK charity rides I have just read a moving story of a chap who rode the John O-Groats Lands end on his K******* IN UNDER 18 HOURS. That's not the point, nor an amazing distance in less than 24 hours. The point is that he did it for the Blue Lamp Charity in aid of PC David Rathband after that Bastid Moat shot him.
David as we now know was shot by Raoul Moat, rendering him blind in the tragic events which unfolded in the North East last summer.

Whilst still in his hospital bed, David conceived the idea of the Blue Lamp Foundation, who’s aim is to raise £1 million by September 2013 to financially support members of the Police, Fire and Ambulance services who have been injured as a result of a criminal act.

The rider met the Pc on his way down south which added to an emotional ride. Reading this has moved me to actually do this charity ride over the same route next year. Anyone else fancy doing it then please do.
